Storio Energy develops and operates Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) for large electricity consumers in France.

We provide a turnkey service, working with our clients from initial feasibility studies, to permitting, procurement, installation, and a seamless operation of the assets during their 15+ years of life using our in-house Energy Management System.

We raised a 5M€ seed round from Lowercarbon Capital (#1 climate tech fund globally), Bpifrance and seasoned energy entrepreneurs like the CEOs of Greenly, Electra, Bump and Enspired, with the ambition of becoming the leading developer and operator of behind-the-meter BESS in France and then Europe. Our team gathers experts from EDF Renewables, Tesla, NW Group, Agregio Solutions as well as repeat entrepreneurs and seasoned engineers from the AI space.

🚀 The opportunity

This is a crucial role, full of opportunities for learning and growth as we scale. You will lead the corporate and project financing function of a company with 600 MWh (120M€ of CAPEX) of projects under development today, and the potential of scaling this impact to thousands of projects representing billions in AUM at an international scale.

Some of our clients decide to pay for the BESS, but many prefer “No CAPEX” solutions, whereby Storio finances the asset and the client commits to paying a loan over ~10-15 years. Securing cost-effective and contractually robust project financing is at the heart of our strategy, it is key to unlocking our full sales potential and long-term growth.

🎯 Responsibilities

As our first finance hire, we’re looking for a builder with an entrepreneurial mindset, a 360° skillset and an appetite for working on a mix of operational and strategic tasks such as :

• Structuring and operating the AssetCo entities for the projects that we finance, in coordination with our legal counsels ;
• Leading discussions with equity and debt investors, at the AssetCo and TopCo levels, in coordination with the CEO ;
• Participating in discussions and contract negotiations with customers and key suppliers such as BESS manufacturers and installers to ensure the bankability of the projects we finance ;
• Corporate financing, accounting and investors reporting ;

✅  Requirements

• At least 8 years of hands-on project finance experience at a developer financing CAPEX-intensive projects or a financial institution (infrastructure funds, greenfield equity fund, debt funds, investment banking), or an advisory / transaction services firm focused on infrastructure and project financing.
• You’re based in Paris, and fluent in English.
• Bonus : Experience in the energy industry, experience working abroad or on international projects.
