Storio Energy develops and operates behind-the-meter Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) for large electricity consumers in France.

We provide a turnkey service, working with our clients from initial feasibility studies, to permitting, procurement, installation, and a seamless operation of the assets during their 15+ years of life using our in-house Energy Management System.

We raised a 5M€ seed round from Lowercarbon Capital (#1 climate tech fund globally), Bpifrance and seasoned energy entrepreneurs like the CEOs of Greenly, Electra, Bump and Enspired, with the ambition of becoming the leading developer and operator of behind-the-meter BESS in France and then Europe. Our team brings together experts from leading energy companies, repeat entrepreneurs and seasoned engineers from the AI space.

🚀 The opportunity

This is a crucial role, full of opportunities for learning and growth as we scale. You will lead the corporate and project financing function of a company with 600 MWh (120M€ of CAPEX) of projects under development today, and the ambition of scaling this to hundreds of projects representing billions in CAPEX to deploy, at an international scale.

Some of our clients decide to pay the CAPEX and own the BESS, but many prefer our “Battery-as-a-Service” model, whereby Storio finances the asset and the client commits to paying a fixed fee over 10-15 years. Securing cost-effective and contractually robust project financing is at the heart of our strategy, it is key to unlocking our full growth and sales potential.

🎯 Responsibilities

We’re looking for a builder with an entrepreneurial mindset and an appetite for working on a mix of operational and strategic tasks:

• Leading discussions with equity and debt investors, at the AssetCo and TopCo levels, including financial modeling and contract reviews, in coordination with the CEO ;
• Participating in discussions and contract negotiations with customers and key suppliers such as BESS manufacturers and installers to ensure the bankability of the projects we finance ;
• Structuring and operating the AssetCo entities for the projects that we finance, in coordination with our legal counsels ;
• Corporate finance and accounting ;

✅  Requirements

• At least 8 years of hands-on project finance experience at a developer of CAPEX-intensive projects, or a financial institution, or an advisory firm specialized in project finance.
• You’re based in Paris, and fluent in French and English.
• Bonus : Experience in the energy industry.
