🫡 Our mission

Storio develops and operates innovative energy storages solutions to accelerate the energy transition and enable a world entirely powered by sustainable energy at an affordable price. Distributed storage assets have a key role to play in the energy transition:

• They facilitate the integration of intermittent renewable energy sources into our electricity mix by storing energy when is it abundant to make it available when it is scarce.
• They help businesses secure their energy supply locally (from solar panels on their rooftops) at a low and predictable price over the long term.
• They stabilize and reduce the congestion on the electric grid.

We aim to enable the fast and massive deployment of distributed energy storage projects and become the leading developer of distributed energy storage in France, and then in Europe.

🤝 Our team

We’re a team of passionate engineers and seasoned entrepreneurs, backed by leading VCs and entrepreneurs from the energy space, who decided to work together on something that matters.

Caroline led the real-time battery optimization team at Tesla for 6 years, operating one of the largest storage portfolio in the world. Gautier developed and deployed large-scale energy storage projects at EDF Renouvelables. JY and Julien co-founded Data Mechanics, a data engineering SaaS startup backed by YCombinator & acquired by NetApp in 2021. Our first hires, Mathilde, Adrien and Julien F., are building the data + AI software platform at the heart of Storio.

👷‍♀️ What we’re building

Storio Energy installs and operates batteries on commercial and industrial sites in France. We offer a turnkey solution and make energy storage seamless for our clients:

• Project development and installation: from the initial economic and technical feasibility studies, to the procurement of batteries from our manufacturing partners, down to the construction and installation work on the site
• Real-time control of batteries: Our software controls and optimizes in real-time the operations of our entire battery portfolio, maximizing both the local savings for the business on-site and the revenues from the grid.

Our clients are industrial companies, retail companies with large footprints (like hypermarkets), solar developers (they can be direct customers or channel partners), and operators of EV charging networks.
